Tommy (1975) 35mm presentation with pre-movie pinball competition!

After seeing his stepfather murder his father during an argument over his mother, young Tommy (Roger Daltrey) goes into shock, suddenly becoming psychosomatically deaf, dumb and blind. As a teenager, Tommy stumbles upon a pinball machine and discovers he is a natural prodigy at the game. Fame and fortune follow for Tommy, as he becomes a pinball champion and later the messiah of a religious cult, which views his pinball skills as a miraculous sign of divine intervention — before the movie abruptly ends from a tilt.

This is Spinal Tap (1984) with live pre-movie music by Cindy Lawson

This mockumentary, hailed as “a sporadically amusing but all-too-uneven piece of work" by Reel Film Reviews and “a mediocre satire of heavy rock bands” by Spirituality and Practice Magazine, chronicles an aging metal band’s last shot at fame and glory. This mock synopsis author takes exception to this mockumentary being called a “comedy.” There is nothing funny about satire.
